Chelsea midfielder’s agent opens up on speculated Juventus move

The representative of Jorginho has said that the Chelsea midfielder may consider a potential move to Juventus regardless of their recent rivalry with Napoli. The Italian only joined the Blues from Naples last summer but his agent has opened the door for a Serie A return amid doubts regarding the future of manager Maurizio Sarri.

Sarri was hugely influential towards Jorginho making the move to Stamford Bridge but the Italian’s future appears to be hanging in the balance with Blues owner Roman Abramovich deemed to be mulling over a change. As such, there have been reports indicating that the 60-year-old could make the switch to Juventus this summer and when asked about the prospect of Jorginho reuniting with him, the player’s agent said:

“I think they are focused on the Europa League final. For Jorginho it was a pretty brilliant season, he made 50 games and finished third in the Premier League, is in the final in the Europa League and plays for the Italian national team. But Jorginho is a professional and not a fan of Napoli, he likes the city but he can’t say he doesn’t want to play for some team, when he won’t play football anymore he can think like a fan. For Napoli I believe that the important thing is to reinforce the team to be competitive with Juventus.”

Jorginho came for plenty of criticism from the Blues supporters at the beginning of the season where he could not find the wavelength with most of the club’s frontmen. He has improved on the distribution as the season has progressed but there remain facets of the game, where he may need to improve to remain with the club for the long term.

Chelsea are scheduled to face Arsenal in this month’s Europa League final in Baku and Jorginho should have a key role to play in the centre of the park. The west London side are aiming for their first European silverware since the 2012/13 season.
