Emre Can eager to win trophies with Juventus

Germany international has revealed his ambition to win trophies with Juventus during his presentation as a Bianconero. The 24-year-old had been linked with the Bianconeri for the past year and he eventually sealed his transfer last month after his contract with former club Liverpool expired.

Speaking in the press conference, he said: “I already knew Juventus was a huge club. You can see it straight away from everything here…Sami Khedira told me how big it was and I’m very happy to be here. The mentality at Juventus is that we just want to win titles. That’s my mentality too. I came here to win titles. I feel at home in the midfield. Of course, at the end the manager decides and I just want to help the team and always give my best whether it’s defender, striker, goalkeeper, or midfield.”

Juventus have made it look easy in terms of their league campaign over the years and they secured their seventh straight title during the recently concluded season. Nevertheless, they have had weaknesses when plying their trade in Europe and Max Allegri now appears intent on winning the Champions League after witnessing his team succumb to final defeats in two of the last four seasons.

Aside from Can, Juventus have spent a further £195m to recruit six other players but the most covered of all remains the surprise signing of Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid. The Portuguese had just come off a third straight Champions League title with Los Blancos but he nevertheless decided on a new challenge after the Bianconeri offered him the opportunity.

The Bianconeri are reported to have agreed on a club-record fee of nearly £100m for the former Manchester United man and the 33-year-old should enhance their prospects of winning the Champions League crown. Ronaldo has won the elite competition on five occasions including four with Real Madrid.
