LAZIO, VERONA KEEN ON CASALE

The Italian football duo of Lazio and Hellas Verona are preparing for a battle in the quest to sign highly rated defender NicoloCasale. 24-year-old Casale is on a season-long loan deal at Hellas Verona from parent club AS Roma having joined at the start of last season.

Several Italian football clubs approached AS Roma for the sale of Casale during the winter transfer window in January, but the Giallorossi were adamant that the player is not for sale in the middle of the season. Rivals Lazio and AC Milan were told to return for the player in the summer as reported by Italian football outlet Calciomercato.
AC Milan are keen to strengthen their defence in the summer and they have identified Casale as a potential signing.

For Lazio, the capital club wants to sign Casale as it is believed that he would be a strong fit for the system employed by manager Maurizio Sarri. Lazio have been on the trail of Casale for a long time, but that doesn't mean the defender will sign for them amidst the interest from elsewhere in Italian football.
Lazio wanted to sign Casale in January and they were willing for him to continue his loan spell at Hellas Verona, but the plan didn’t come to pass thus leaving them empty-handed. They are expected to return to sign the player in the summer and it remains to be seen if they will be able to fight off competition from AC Milan and Hellas Verona. Casale is presently on loan at Verona as revealed earlier and they are keen to turn the loan deal into a permanent deal.
Apart from Casale, Lazio are also interested in signing Italian senior national team left-back Emerson Palmieri who's currently on loan at French club Lyon from Chelsea in the Premier League. Lyon are keen to sign Emerson to a permanent deal and they will face opposition from Lazio to that effect.
