National Non League Day

As you may have noticed, Down to Ten Men have recently been going down to Court Place Farm in Oxford to cast an eye on the fortunes of Zamaretto Premiership side Oxford City. Although the results have not been going in the right direction much enjoyment has been had by going to watch the semi-professional echelons of the game.

It’s at this time we would like to bring you to the attention of the national ‘Non-League Day’ (nonleagueday.co.uk) that takes place this Saturday all over the country. The website is the brainchild of two chaps called James and Mike who started to spread the non-league love via a social networking group, and after gaining much support via this and other avenues the group began to get national exposure and it was nominated that this Saturday, 4th September 2010, would be national Non-League Day.

One half of Down to Ten Men will be taking the short journey down the M4 to Swindon to watch City take on Swindon Supermarine. It is hoped that with the national exposure the organisation has received that some people may sit up and take notice of the lower leagues where the games can be just as exciting as those in the professional ones.

So why not check out nonleagueday.co.uk today and find your local non-league teams taking part in this national campaign to get more cash flowing into the non-league game and, who knows, you may enjoy it!
