TORINO CLOSING IN ON DENAYER TRANSFER

Italian football side Torino are closing in on the transfer of Belgium international centre back Jason Denayer.

This is according to the report from Sky Sports Italia. It was reported that Torino are edging closer to the signing of Denayer who's a free agent after his last contract with French side Lyon came to an end on June 30.

Denayer, 27, could be the replacement forGleison Bremer at Torino if they are able to complete the deal after the Brazilian left the club to join city rivals Juventus in a big-money transfer worth €50m including add-ons. Bremer is the replacement for Dutchman Matthijs de Ligt who moved to German champions Bayern Munich in a deal worth €80m to make him one of the most expensive defenders ever. This goes to show that a lot of defenders have been exchanged amongst the European clubs this summer. A lot of high-profile transfers involving defenders have happened this summer.

Torino are not the only Italian football team keen on signing free agent Denayer this summer. Monza are also interested in signing the Belgian defender. Italian football side Monza are one of the three teams promoted in the Serie A this season. It must be pointed out that Torino are the favourites to sign Denayer as things stand.
Transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio said negotiations are progressing well for the free transfer signing of Denayerand he could undergo his medical with Torino and also sign his contract at the start of this week.
Belgian international Denayer is an experienced defender who has played for clubs such as Manchester City, Sunderland, Celtic, Lyon and Galatasaray. He has played 35 times for the Red Devils of Belgium. Denayer missed two months of last season due to injury thus limiting him to 22 appearances for Lyon in all competitions.
